PETERSON ROAD RAMP

Kenny Construction was the general contractor on this project which required the removal of the existing two lane bridge and construction of a new, four lane bridge. Route 137 is a major road and could not be closed to traffic. Construction had to be performed in stages to maintain traffic.
The bridge section was on a tight horizontal and vertical curve. The geometry required the bridge go from a normal cross slope to the maximum superelevation and then back to a normal cross slope, while being on a vertical curve.
The extreme elevation changes required careful planning to allow for the placement of the bridge deck concrete to meet the final plan elevations.
